STRUCTURE
A language written in amino acids.
Peptides are chains of amino acids linked by peptide bonds. Their sequence and shape help determine how they interact with biological systems. A small change in a sequence can change its behavior.

A FOUNDATION FOR UNDERSTANDING
STRUCTURE
Peptides are chains of amino acids linked by peptide bonds. Their sequence and shape help determine how they interact with biological systems. A small change in a sequence can change its behavior.
SIGNALING
Some naturally occurring peptides act as signaling molecules. They can interact with specific receptors and influence cellular processes. A biological mechanism is a starting point for research, not proof of a clinical benefit.
EVIDENCE
Laboratory findings, animal studies, and studies in people answer different questions. Clinical decisions require a careful look at study quality, meaningful outcomes, limitations, and safety.
THE DISTINCTIONS MATTER
Peptide is a structural description. It does not, by itself, tell us whether a compound is safe, effective, or approved for a particular use.
FDA approval applies to a specific drug product and its approved uses. It does not extend to every peptide or to every proposed use of an approved medicine.
These are being studied and should not be presented as established treatment options. Collection formulations should be evaluated individually; appearing in a collection does not establish FDA approval, safety, or availability.
Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. FDA does not review their safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed. Pharmacy sourcing alone is not proof of approval or suitability.
